What is Shore hardness?

Shore hardness is a measurement that represents how hard a material is on a scale of 0 to 100. The higher the number, the harder the material. Shore hardness is also referred to as Shore durometer, and the device used to measure a material's Shore hardness is also called a Shore durometer.

There are several different scales of Shore hardness. The most often used scales are Shore D, Shore A, and Shore 00. The Shore D scale is for measuring firm plastics such as hard hats and skateboard wheels. The Shore A scale is for slightly softer materials like tires, erasers, and shoe soles. And the Shore 00 scale is for soft and extra soft materials like marshmallows, gummy bears, gel shoe insoles, and silicone.

The scales overlap slightly. For example, an eraser measured with a Shore A durometer could have a hardness of 40 Shore A (which can also be notated as Shore 40A or simply 40A), and the same eraser measured with a Shore 00 durometer could have a hardness of 75 Shore 00 (which can also be notated as Shore 00-75, or simply 00-75).

At FUKENA, we measure the Shore hardness of our dildos with a Shore 00 durometer manufactured by the Shore Instrument and Manufacturing Company in Freeport, New York.

Our dildos are made of dual density silicone, which means they have a soft layer of silicone on the outside with a more firm silicone core underneath. We measure and publish the Shore hardness of the outer layer and the inner core as well.

Many of our models have an outer layer Shore hardness of 00-30 with an inner core Shore hardness of 00-70. These dildos are soft, squishy, and comfortable. We also have quite a few models with a softer, squishier outer layer measuring 00-25 on the Shore hardness scale.

Are the FUKENA products on Amazon genuine?

Yes. FUKENA is a registered trademark, and we hold the exclusive right to sell our products on Amazon. We are a member of Amazon's "Brand Registry" program, which gives us full control over our brand on Amazon. We set it up so that our own account, Michigan Hardware, is the only one allowed to ship inventory to Amazon. It isn't possible for someone to send counterfeit FUKENA products to Amazon because the Brand Registry system automatically blocks everyone else, and only allows our Michigan Hardware account to create inbound shipments. When you order FUKENA products on Amazon, you will receive genuine items that we personally packed and shipped to the Amazon warehouses.

Is shipping discreet?

Yes. To protect your privacy, all FUKENA products are sealed inside strong, unmarked boxes. The box doesn't have any pictures or text – it's just a plain, unmarked box. When you place an order, this box is packed inside a larger box or padded envelope. The shipping label is discreet and doesn't give any hint as to what is inside. This is true whether you order from Amazon or from another store that carries our products.

What is your refund policy?

All toys are non-returnable and non-refundable, so be sure to check all dimensions, colors, and quantities before you place an order. Once an order is shipped, the sale is final unless there is a manufacturer defect, in which case we will issue a refund or send a replacement. If you think you may have received a defective item, write to contact@fukena.com and attach a photo to help us understand the issue. Please include a photo of the barcode on the package as well.

What kind of lube can I use?

Our dildos are made of platinum cured, dual density silicone. You can use water-based, oil-based, or hybrid lube. Hybrid lube is mostly water-based lube with a small amount of silicone lube mixed in. Hybrid lube won't damage the toy. Using 100% pure silicone lube is not recommended, as it may cause the toy to swell slowly over time.

Can you ship to the UK / Canada / Australia, etc.

If you live outside the U.S., you can order our products from Amazon (.com only), and they will ship to your country.
